You may not be aware, but the committee have been working hard to secure an extension to the allowed flying hours at the club.
Thanks to the tireless work of a few members, we have been granted a new planning permission which allows us to now fly 7 days a week.
We have had to amend the club rules to allow for the changes in flying hours, so please find enclosed, a copy of the new club rules which you should read and understand fully before you next fly at the club.
Briefly, the normal flying hours for All I/C models remain the same. Monday, Thursday and Sunday, 10am until 7:30pm. But we have been granted an electric only exemption allowing us to fly 7 days a week 10am until Dusk with ELECTRIC MODELS ONLY.
When you read the amended rules, you will notice that section 18 explains the consequences of flying an I/C model on an electric only day. We as a committee have to come down hard on any deviation from the posted flying hours. The new planning permission has been granted despite objections from the local council, so we as a club need to remain squeaky clean and clearly within the newly set out limitations.
The spotlight is on us currently. So the committee is relying on you all to continue to fly safely, within the new rules and with the local residents in mind.
A copy of the new planning permission will be posted in the container for you to read and understand.
If you have any questions regarding the new rules or the limitations inside which we must fly, please don’t hesitate to contact a member of the committee who will be happy to clear anything up for you.
All of us on the committee wish you a safe and happy winter season of flying, and invite you to enjoy your site 7 days a week from now on.
Safe flying and happy landings.
